Dr. Neilan Snowden
Veterinarian
Dr. Snowden grew up in Portland, Oregon, and attended Central Catholic High School. After high school, Dr. Snowden attended University of Colorado in Boulder. After receiving his Bachelor of Science, he worked as a Veterinary Technician at North Boulder Companion Animal Hospital. That experience led to him pursuing a degree in Veterinary Medicine and Surgery at Massey University in New Zealand.
His first goal in patient care is to be kind and help animals to trust him. It is a lofty goal, since most pets hate going to the vet. The hardest part of the job is a physical exam. A good exam is the foundation for figuring out the problem or the issues pets are coping with. If an animal can leave the clinic happy and a have plan to make them healthy, we did something right. That is the best part of his workday.
His free time is spent with his wife Caitlin endlessly chasing around their three wonderful, wild, and fun children. Their daughter wants to become a “kitty vet.” Their middle son wants to drive excavators and their youngest can make just about anyone smile. They have 2 dogs, a golden retriever named Indy, a cavalier King Charles named Truckee, and 2 cats named Miso and Sushi.
